Attend thought-provoking seminars and events bringing policymakers and the film community together to discuss crucial issues involving the U.S. and the Muslim world.
Our seminar premiere Rewriting the Divide: Hollywood and the Muslim World, hosted at the Writers Guild of America/West, featured Howard Gordon, executive producer of 24, and Dalia Mogahed, author of Gallup’s Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think.
On tap for this year are meetings and special interest seminars for the entire entertainment community. All are targeted to “filling in the blanks” of knowledge about Islam and enabling writers and producers to develop stories with realistic Muslim themes and characters.
- October 23, 2008. Muslims and the Middle East: Reflections in Hollywood. Join Jeffery Nachmanoff, Writer-Director of The Traitor and Stephen Gaghan, Writer of Syrian and Traffic in a panel discussion of new challenges that Hollywood faces in developing stories and characters about Muslims and the Middle East.
- On December 3 we will host a by-invitation celebration at the Paley Center in Los Angeles, to mark the launch of Muslims on Screen and Television: A Cross Cultural Resource Center.
