Aneelah Afzali was born in Afghanistan and emigrated to California with her family in 1982. Graduating from Harvard Law School, she worked for several law firms and eventually became General Counsel for Edifecs, a healthcare technology company. At around this time, she read the Quran cover to cover, and rediscovered her Muslim faith.
