Forced to leave Syria due to the ongoing war, book publishers Samer al Kadri and Gulnar Hajo have recently settled in Turkey and have opened an Arabic-language bookstore in Istanbul. “It’s not only a bookshop,” says Gulnar Hajo. “It is also a place for the Syrians to see each other and exchange their ideas and culture.”
