“It’s an atrocity,” Robert West proclaims. “You cannot live in Texas your entire lives and not have BBQ. Somebody’s got to do something.”
Yup, Robert West is a Muslim-Texan (complete with cowboy hat), and is referring to how many in the local Muslim community haven’t tried the state’s signature cuisine. So he did something about it and recently opened the first authentic halal Texas BBQ joint called “Chopped n Smoked.” (Yes, read after Iftar).
