On the passing of beloved Egyptian actor Omar Sharif last week, it is worth noting five other important Muslim actors including Iranian born actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (“House of Sand and Fog”), comedian Aasif Mandvi (“The Daily Show”), Haaz Sleiman (played Jesus in “Killing Jesus”) and… a surprise for some, acclaimed actress Ellen Burstyn, follower of Sufi Islam.
