In Europe, ten amateur cyclists from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Cycle Club have taken part in Ride4Peace. On September 10th, the group started their 300 mile journey through Europe with a double purpose: promoting the message that Islam is a religion of peace, love, tolerance, justice and equality while also raising money for the British Red Cross (to date, the club has raised £3,600).
“The reception they have received has been fantastic,” says Jamal Akbar, spokesman for the cycling club. “People were really supportive, hooting their horns and cheering them along. It shows that the majority of people just want to work together for peace and harmony.”
