Amid international disapproval of Ahmed Mohamed’s illogical treatment, a new report is coming out of the UK highlighting concerns among British-Muslims that they, too, are being unfairly treated and targeted.
The Muslim Council of Britain submitted a report to David Anderson, the UK’s independent reviewer of terrorism legislation. Among the examples:
– A student got in trouble for using the term “Praise Be To God” in Arabic.
– A toddler told her teachers that she had a dream about fireworks. The teacher called in the parents, suspecting the child was referring to possible guns at home. She wasn’t. The child was talking about fireworks.
– In a report on British foreign policy, a student wrote about the history of the caliphate, and was sent to social services for signs of radicalization.
