Born in Saudi Arabia, Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud spent her formative years in the United States, where her father was ambassador from 1983-2005. Princess Reema earned a degree in museum studies from George Washington University, and in 2006, returned to Saudi Arabia where she became the country’s first female retail CEO of the upscale department store Riyadh’s Harvey Nichols where she encouraged a female workforce. Recently, she established a training academy for Saudi women who want to have professional jobs and careers.
Princess Reema says that the perceived limitations of Saudi women (such as not being able to drive) are not the only story pertaining to her country. “What about the women who go so far outside the box of their limitations to make those issues irrelevant to their success?”
