Haider Ali Hussein Mullick is a United States Naval Reserve officer with the Fifth Fleet, and teaches graduate seminars on combating terrorism at the Naval War College. He is also an American Muslim. In this op-ed for the New York Times, he writes about not playing into the hands of ISIS propaganda that America is at war with Islam, and stresses the importance of our nation standing against Islamophobia. –
“The Islamic State wants every American Muslim to feel alienated. Its false utopia rests on the warped dream that the estimated three million American Muslims will believe they can no longer live, thrive and worship in peace in America. We must not let that happen,” comments Mr. Mullick in his piece.
