Activist group, I Am Your Protector (IAYP), pledges to bring attention to the “often forgotten stories” of Muslims who helped Jews during World War II.
The organization describes themselves as “a community of people who speak up and stand up for each other across religion, race, gender and beliefs.” Among those heroic Muslims the group plans to commemorate are British spy Noor Inayat Khan whose life was featured in the PBS documentary Enemy Of The Third Reich , produced by Unity Productions Foundation.
After serving as a wireless operator during World War II, Noor Khan was recruited to spy for the Allied forces in Nazi-occupied France, and provided critical support to the resistance movement. Sadly her efforts were exposed and she was executed at the Dachau Concentration Camp
