Muslims Like Us is a new reality show set in Australia featuring a group of Muslims who share a house in Sydney’s Northern Beach area where, according to the narrator, there were “no Muslim residents…. until now.” In the two-part series, the housemates all have different views on what it means to be a Muslim and how they each observe their faith. Of note, Muslims make up less than 3% of the population in Australia.
The Guardian said this about the show: “‘Muslims Like Us’ actually made for an interesting and at times enlightening experiment, as the temporary housemates, who ranged from non-practising cultural Muslims to devoted ultra conservatives, debated faith, sectarianism, terrorism and national security (of course), politics and… sexual orientation.”
