Last year, at the height of the Gezi Park protests in Turkey, a teenage boy was sent on an errand by his mother but ended up getting severely wounded by a tear-gas canister. That boy, Berkin Elvan, recently died to the outrage of many Turkish citizens, sparking one of the largest protests since last summer.
