In this video segment, professional skateboarder Jordan Richter discusses experiencing his first hajj, the five-day religious pilgrimage that’s among the most meaningful experiences in a Muslim’s life, and the healing transformation it brought to him. “Along the whole way, there’s reminders of God,” Richter explains. “Reminding you how blessed you are to have what you have… What are you ungrateful for?”
Richter, who is a convert to Islam, talks about how he wants to be part of breaking down stereotypes about his faith. “There’s gross misconception about Islam… We need for a different side of the story told.”
