There are about fifty Muslim chaplains working at universities across the country but what makes Middlebury College (a prestigious liberal arts school) so special is that not only does the college have two chaplains but they are married to one another.
Naila Baloch, and her husband, Beau Latif Scurich, share a full-time Muslim chaplaincy position, and complement each other in many ways. Balouch grew up in Pakistan and has an intimate understanding of the concerns of the international students while her husband is from California and understands the Muslim-American experience. A great pair indeed!
