Author Saadia Faruqi collection of short stories titled “Brick Walls: Tales of Hope & Courage From Pakistan” addresses socioeconomic issues, gender inequality and the growing population of elderly people in Pakistan. Fauqui says she was motivated to write the book in part because “the average American has no idea how people in Pakistan live.”
