In 2010, NASA’s Amy Mainzer discovered an asteroid between Mars and Jupiter, and has named it after teen activist and Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafza. As the astronomer said, “We desperately need the brainpower of all smart people to solve some of humanity’s most difficult problems.”
