After attending the annual Islamic Society of North America conference, Ann Arbor resident Waseem Ullah is helping to rebuild a Detroit neighborhood near an African-American Muslim mosque, and has founded the non-profit the Indus Community Action Network (ICAN).
Ullah is a radiologist by trade and a self-described “regular Joe.” Speaking about his faith’s call for community, the Pakistani-Muslim immigrant simply says, “We are compassionate. We help others.”
