Egyptian artist Saad Mohammed has spent three years creating what he hopes is the world’s largest Quran. “This Quran is 700 meters long, and of course that’s a large amount of paper,” he explained. “I self-funded this project for the past three years – and I’m an average person. I don’t have assets or anything.”
Next step for Mr. Mohammed is to submit his Quran to the Guinness World Records. Reuters reports that while Guinness says that there is a record for the world’s largest printed Quran, there is no record holder for the biggest handwritten version.
