European imams have joined other religious leaders to take part of a tour of the sites of recent extremist attacks in Europe. They wish to honor the victims and condemn the horrific violence.
The religious leaders plan to visit Berlin where 12 people were killed in a Christmas market attack last December and Nice where a truck attack killed 86 people celebrating Bastille Day. ISIS has claimed responsibility for both attacks.
While in Berlin, the leaders say they hope to meet Chancellor Angela Merkel. “We are here to say that our religion and the values of Islam are opposed to those assassins,” states Hassen Chalghoumi, the imam de Drancy.
