The red carpet was rolled out for a vital new film festival last week – no, not Cannes but The Karama Gaza Film Festival – yes, in Gaza!
Despite the devastations of last summer’s war, the power of film is bringing the community together and showing the world that Gazans have a powerful will. “I want the festival to send a message to the whole world that people of Gaza deserve life — that they love life and seek peace,” declares festival organizer Khalil al-Mozayen.
