This year, Saudi Arabia has funded the Hajj pilgrimage for 1,000 Palestinians – half from Gaza and the other half from the West Bank.
“I didn’t expect to get a permit, it was a shock,” says Gaza resident, Hussain Tarneesi. “When I saw the Kaaba, I started crying from happiness.”
