Supermodel Bella Hadid has just declared that she is “proud to be a Muslim.” Bella comes from a long line of famous models — her sister is Gigi Hadid and her mother is Yolanda Foster, a former model who was also on the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
Bella recounts how Trump’s Travel Ban affects her family, explaining that her father, Mohamed Hadid, “was a refugee when he first came to America. So [Trump’s immigration policy is] actually very close to home for my sister and brother and me…”
Back in January, Bella and Gigi joined the “No Ban No Wall” march in downtown New York, along with their mother and a few friends, holding up a sign which read: ‘We are all humans.’ Speaking about the march, she says: “We shouldn’t treat people as if they don’t deserve kindness just because of their ethnicities. It’s just not right.”
Reflecting about her father’s influence, Bella says that “he was always religious, and he always prayed with us. I am proud to be a Muslim.”
