On Sunday, a large group of Muslim women formed a human chain on Westminster Bridge to condemn last week’s London attack which occurred when Khalid Masood purposely ran over pedestrians on the bridge with an SUV. Three people were sadly killed, including a police officer, and several others were also injured.
“When an attack happens in London, it is an attack on me,” Sarah Waseem told Metro UK. “It is an attack on all of us. Islam totally condemns violence of any sort. This is abhorrent to us.”
“As a visible Muslim, I think it was important to show solidarity with the principles that we all hold dear, the principles of plurality, diversity and so on,” said Ayesha Malik, a 34-year-old mother.
