Malala Yousafzai, Nobel Peace laureate and education advocate, celebrated her 18th birthday by inducting a school for Syrian refugee girls in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley which is near the border of Syria. Due to the ongoing civil war in Syria, there are more than 1 million Syrian refugees living in neighboring Lebanon.
In this behind the scenes footage from the BBC, Malala has a clear and simple message: Only if you educate girls, can you change the world.
