Upon hearing about the Manchester attacks at the Ariana Grande concert, a Muslim taxi-driver sprang into action. Saf Ismail says he made numerous trips to take concert-goers to safety that night. “There were so many people coming out,” recounted Mr. Ismail. “It was like seeing my daughter there.”
Mr. Ismail said he saw streams of people coming out of the Manchester Arena and drove as many as he could to safety. “They weren’t injured but they were crying, shouting, screaming – basically very, very emotional… Emotions were running so high it’s like seeing your own flesh and blood walking.”
As for Manchester rebounding from the attacks, Mr. Ismail states, “These people are very strong. We have had differences but we get together and we stay together.”
