Amanda Saab is unintentionally breaking barriers as she is the first Muslim female chef to wear the hijab (religious headscarf) during a popular prime-time cooking show. Ms. Saab is competing on Fox’s “Masterchef” and has become an inspiration for many. “I believe my presence in the culinary world is breaking stereotypes that Muslim women are oppressed and cannot follow their passions,” says Ms. Saab.
