This summer, the #MobileMuslims tour is traveling across Canada as a campaign to fight the misconceptions about Islam and educate non-Muslims about the faith.
So far the tour has stopped at 26 cities and reached out to hundreds of people. Though initially nervous, tour-member Omar Ahmed says that people have been very warm and receptive. He hopes allowing people to come to them with questions will combat Islamophobia. As he says, “Why not talk to us? Maybe get to know the other side of the picture. Don’t paint us all with the same brush. And people have been very receptive, and I am very thankful for Canada and Canadians for doing that.”
