In this witty satire, writer Wajahat Ali takes the recent motorcycle gang shootout in Waco, Texas, and draws sharp and insightful parallels to the Muslim community, particularly in relation to extremism and condemnation.
In the piece, Mr. Ali calls himself a “moderate biker gang member” who offers “a full-throated condemnation of, and apology for, their violent acts.” In character, he asks the important question, “When did I become responsible for the criminal actions of a handful of deluded fanatics just because I ride a motorcycle, sport facial hair and have tattoos?”
An insightful and yes, fun read –
