26-year-old Dalilah Muhammad is an American track and field athlete who last week became the first American woman to win a gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles at the Rio Olympics, at a breath-taking speed of 53.13.
Dalilah’s proud parents, Nadirah and Askia Muhammad, say that their daughter’s Muslim faith, discipline and talent took her all the way to the Olympics. “A lot of people don’t realize how much work that goes into producing an Olympic athlete,” commented Askia Muhammad.
