In New York, there are more than ten thousand firefighters but only 44 of them are women. Ahlam Ahmed is thinking about changing that and is participating in the FDNY’s first-ever Women’s History Month Female Outreach program. If she moves forward with her plans, she would be the first observant Muslim women to enter the FDNY.
