Huffington Post interviews Ahmed Saleh, a well-regarded Imam from the Syrian city of Deir Ezzour who currently lives as a refugee in neighboring Turkey. He, along with 1.7 million exiled Syrians, were driven out of their country by ISIS, and are awaiting the day they can return and rebuild. In this interview, Imam Saleh gives a candid interview about ISIS, remarking “they don’t depend on scholars or the Islamic science of jurisprudence, [or on those] who studied in Islamic universities or with well-known scholars. So their understanding of Islam is wrong.”
