Experts are talking about a “lost generation” of Syrian children, refugees in Lebanon, who have become farm workers, working ten hour days for as little as $8 a day. In order to provide for their families, many of these children do not go to school and are especially vulnerable, some reportedly have been subjected to abuse and exploitation.
“The Syria crisis has dramatically reduced family livelihood opportunities and impoverished millions of households in the region, resulting in child labour reaching critical levels,” says Roger Hearn, director for Save the Children.
